Up Fuel I just got off the phone with Jeremy aka Shoemoney a few hours ago and I’m officially heading to New York for the Elite Retreat October 1st and the 2nd. I live in Seattle, WA now so it’ll be quite a journey to make it over to New York. I’ll of course write a couple posts while I’m there but I will not be able to discuss the specifics of the conference as you must sign an NDA. This is the first conference I’ll ever be attending and I’m sure it will also go down as the most expensive. At $4,950 before travel expenses it’s not for the feint of heart and the price tag is most certainly to discourage people that aren’t already very serious about earning money online. They also allow 50 people so that you can have plenty of 1 on 1 time with the speakers (only 9 spots left and it’s only been available to register for a week or two). I’m very excited to meet Seth Godin as well as the rest of the speakers. If you haven’t read one of Seth’s books, you’re really missing out. Here’s a list of all his books
Why Am I Attending?
Some of you may think, WTF why are you paying over five grand to go to an internet marketing conference? Well, I spoke with a few different Elite Retreat attendees and they both thought based on what I’m earning online now it would be worth going. Thanks Shane and Al for the advice! By the way, you should subscribe to their blogs too. The internet is littered with so many shitty make money online blogs it’s ridiculous. Their blogs are a breath of fresh air. I don’t even want to lump them in with the MMO’s – you all know how much I hate that term. I love blogs by people that know what they’re doing and don’t just simply profit off of noobs looking to earn money online with stupid products /rant.
Anyway, I truly believe that there is a lot of room for improvement in the way I make money from my websites and not only will they be able to help a lot but it will also be a very good networking opportunity. Many of the attendees make WAY more money than I do and from what I hear they can also be a big help as well. I’m a very outgoing person so I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun to meet others and see how they run their online businesses.
Nothing to lose
I have nothing to lose. I am paying for the conference from money made from my business and because I have a full time job that pays my bills I don’t even spend my online income at all. Besides I need to spend a lot of my business’ money before the year is up anyway. lol business expense for the win! That and I’ve never been to New York so that should be fun too.
