You can earn $65 for each sale through Amazon Wireless, but because this is a brand new website you may have a few questions. See this description courtesy the email I was sent:
Update 6/2/2010 1:10 PM: I heard back from my contact at Amazon see answers to some questions below
What is Amazon Wireless?
“AmazonWireless (http://www.amazonwireless.com) is a new website by Amazon.com that offers cell phones and wireless plans, easy shopping without rebate hassles, and FREE two-day shipping.
AmazonWireless makes it easy for customers to upgrade their phone if they already have a plan, or if they want to establish new cell phone service, has tried to make it simple to find the right phone, service plan, and options.
Customers can shop for phones by carrier, phone feature, price, color, and brand. The site’s shopping cart will guide them through each stage of the purchase process, where theyll find familiar Amazon features like bestseller lists, detailed product descriptions, and customer reviews.” via email
What does this mean to you?
If you own a website that is focused in any way around cell phones you should be writing about this new website and making money (it’s all about being first with the news to your readers). From what I can tell this site is pretty cool (like almost everything Amazon does) and from now until August 31st 2010 you can earn $65 per unit sold. You build the links just like any other product on Amazon or if you just want to let your readers know about the main URL you can post a link like this:
http://wireless.amazon.com/?tag=mmoti09-20 (replace your tracking ID for mine)
Get on this now if you have a niche mobile website as you should be able to make some decent money promoting the new service. I had a few questions about the service and have emailed my contact at Amazon to see what she has to say and they are as follows:
1. What is the payout after August 31st 2010? I know it’s $65 until then but does it drop or completely go away?
A: “This has not been announced but will be addressed after August 31st”
2. Will you update the website to include the easy to use Amazon Site Stripe bar?
A: Still in beta phase and site stripe option has not yet become an option. When it does it will be listed on the Associates blog or on the Associates Central homepage.
3. Is the tracking cookie still 24 hours or is it longer?
A: Yes, 24 hours cookie after the initial click through from your site, and 90 days after an item is added to the cart.
The email doesn’t answer these (the most important being what happens after August 31st), but I’ll update this post when I hear back.
Feel free to check out my tips on how to make more money with Amazon Associates if you’re still struggling to make money with them. Later this week I’ll be posting my income report from May so be sure to stick around for more tips on how to make money on the internet.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention Chris, I probably would have found out way too late if it weren’t for your post.
Honestly, I wasn’t too keen on exploring Amazon Associates (I’ve been a member for quite a while but never pursued it), but I’ll admit you’re really motivating me to wanna start exploring it more, so thanks again for that.
I guess my main reason for not exploring niche marketing, which is what I’ll assume works best with Amazon Associates, is not being able to stay passionate about my work because of the lack of interest in the niches/topics I’m promoting.
I know there are a lot of people that can work, work, and work without regard for personal interests or passion but there’s not a lot of people that can stick with it for very long unless those elements are present.
Have you personally run into these challenges? If so, how do you overcome them?

Well, for me I’m passionate about various consumer product categories and even the ones I don’t care much about I still find it in me to create websites around them because I like making money.
I’ve found it’s easier to sell real physical products than to sell shitty digital goods via ClickBank (granted there is some good stuff there though).
I think of it as a sink or swim mentality. Either you will put in the effort necessary to make money in a niche or you’ll just bounce from ebook to ebook and training course to training course without ever actually doing anything. People think the work is easy and in a sense it is, but people think it’s so easy they can just sit down and have money magically fly at them for very little work.
Have you made some sells yourself on this new site?

Not yet, it just launched less than 24 hours ago and Amazon’s earnings are delayed by a day anyway.
Regular Amazon has the bar at the top and you click there to link to the page. I can’t figure out how to link to anything on this new site and I can’t see anything for affiliates. Jack Bauer is stumped.
It’s all about ease of use. Of course it’s easy to figure out and manually create them but the site bar just makes it faster. Why are you using a new email address by the way Mr Bauer? I’m still waiting on you to accept my invite for coffee over here in Seattle since you’re based in WA. Let me know…
Cleared my cookies and forgot the fake email address I used before. You know, fake everything. I’m a loner dude, taking on the bad guys by myself so the coffee thing probably won’t happen. But I am real and I really do live in the Seattle area.
I made a whole $26 with Amazon last month so they are not my strength. I have a couple phone blogs so maybe I should figure out how to manually create the links. I don’t do much with physical products and none with clickbank either. Lots with CJ, Neverblue, and Market Leverage.
It is perfect for my cell phone site. Thanks for the information, It will surely a big earning for future.

I don’t even use a cell phone, but
I do see the opportunity with this one.
I have a website promoting now, too.
I am trying to be like you when I grow
up! I see you are making 13k + with
Amazon’s Affiliate program. What is the
secret? Please reveal it to me.

This is great info Chris! I called them and found out they also have banners you can add to your site. Since I have a Mobile Marketing blog, this will be a great addition to my site!
Thanks!

That’s interesting. I keep meaning to try out Endless as well, but have never got round to it. Will give Amazon wireless a look.

Unfortunately my site is very much UK based and, there is no UK version.
But it does look like a good deal, so maybe they will put a UK one out in due course.
