I have a bunch of books I’ve read I wanted to review so this one’s the first. Expect some more to come.
Key Takeaway:
Work really really hard at something you’re passionate about and you can achieve financial success and ditch your day job. (Duh)
Full Review:
Crush It! is written by Gary Vaynerchuk and it’s a book that I had high hopes for because of all the hype that surrounded the release, but sadly it fell short of my expectations. There were a few good ideas in the book but what the impression I kept getting from Gary was that all he was really saying was that if you work really hard at something you’re passionate about you can quit that crappy job you hate. To me this ideology is obvious, but perhaps that’s because I’m living it right now. I had a full time job that I hated and I always had a passion for websites and earning money online. So rather than punching in for 8 hours a day at my job and then coming home to sit around until I had to go to sleep and do it all over again I would work for several hours a night trying to build an online business. Flash forward a few years later and in October 2009 I got fired from my job but because I was already earning a full time income from my online business I decided to continue to pursue my passion on a full time basis and that’s where I’m at now. He also provides some of the most ridiculous examples of hypothetical passions that people could earn money on if they really tried to “Crush It!” but I just don’t buy it. There are certain areas that I believe no matter how hard you work it would prove impossible to earn enough money to live on. Instead I propose that you try and combine a passion you love and something you know you can make money with based on the size of the market, but my suggestion probably won’t sell as many books.
Should You Buy It?:
If you weren’t aware of the fact that you can earn a living doing something you love online and working really hard then you should read this book. This is probably a good book for someone that is oblivious to the idea of earning a living online, but because I’m so familiar with the topic I just felt that there wasn’t a whole lot added to the conversation that’s already been said before.
I think that this will be oly good for those who just learn that they could earn money online. Not for those who are already earning online.

Well, I love his book – it’s full of passion and Gary V. style, but yeah,
it’s not really detailed when it comes to the technical aspects.
but seriously, if you look at all the business books that are outside,
it’s always about 80% psychology, and 20 % real tactics and techniques.

Working just for the sake of earning can drain us of happiness and positive personal development. I’ve not yet read this book but it looks like it deals with facts and figures of reality and our passions.
There is nothing like hard work. Without being honest with ourselves and our works we can never work towards our goal. There is so much happiness in achieving a goal after working so hard. A book on hard work usually have many important principles to teach us.
